Refinance, Appliances, and Emergency Fund...Oh My!
We’re at the end of another month! Let’s take a look at what happened…
Mortgage Refinance
Mannnnn….this whole process was, ugh! Glad it’s over! LOL. If you haven’t already, go ahead and check out my video on Instagram. I cover everything that happened—the timing, money for closing, the Planned Unit Development (PUD) issue. This will be a good lesson if you are considering refinancing in the near future.
New Appliance Purchases
I finally replaced my washer and dryer (I had to because the washer gave out) and bought a new dishwasher. This was another interesting experience. All of this cost a few thousand dollars, so I delayed increasing my emergency fund for a minute.
Increase in Emergency Fund
However, I made a $4,000 increase to my emergency fund about a week ago. My target for the year is a $15,000 increase, and, right now, I’ve made a total $7,000 increase since January.
So what’s on the schedule for this month?
For March, I’ll be prepping all of my meals. This will help me get back on track with managing my health and save money (No running out to Cava this month. Ha!). I used to be really good about eating well and preparing my meals, but to err is human. I’m looking forward to the results of eating well over the next 31 days.
Until next time, folks!
